Abid Siddique Chaudhry is a prominent Pakistani journalist and seasoned media professional with decades of experience in the field of journalism.
His career began in 1992 with the esteemed Urdu daily Jurat Lahore, marking the start of a dedicated journey in media. He later worked with other leading publications such as Daily Asas Lahore and Daily Asas Karachi, where he refined his journalistic skills and gained wide recognition for his editorial insight.
In 2003, he earned his degree from Punjab University, laying a solid academic foundation in journalism. To further enhance his professional capabilities, he completed a Professional Journalist Certificate Course in 2012 from the School of Journalism, Indiana University, USA, with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan. This experience expanded his global vision and deepened his command over modern journalistic practices.
From 2009 to 2019, he served as the Chief Editor of Daily Hub Pakistan, where his editorial leadership elevated the paper’s reputation and influence in journalistic circles.
In 2019, he took on the role of Deputy Editor at Capital Mail, where he played a vital role in shaping the publication’s editorial direction.
Currently, he is serving as the Editor at The World Ambassador, a news platform dedicated to international diplomacy and global affairs. He also holds the position of Country Head at CNN Urdu Online, where he leads the platform’s national operations with his extensive media experience and strategic vision.
Beyond his editorial responsibilities, Abid Siddique Chaudhry is a passionate advocate for journalists’ rights and media cooperation. He actively works toward strengthening international media ties and promoting press freedom.
He serves as the Secretary General of the World Journalists Federation (WJF), an international body representing journalist organizations from 34 countries, working collectively to safeguard the rights of journalists and media workers. The federation is headquartered in South Korea.
He is also a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of APNEC, has previously served as a Federal Executive Council (FEC) member of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), and worked as Information Secretary at the Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ).
